A tractor driver was injured when an ambulance transporting a critically ill patient collided with a tractor loaded with paddy in the Paranthan area of Kilinochchi.
The accident occurred while the ambulance was transferring the patient from Mulangavil Hospital to Kilinochchi Hospital. Both the tractor driver and the patient in the ambulance were admitted to the hospital following the collision.
The ambulance sustained significant damage, with one side completely destroyed, according to police reports.
Kilinochchi Police are conducting an investigation into the incident, while Kilinochchi Health Authorities have launched a separate inquiry into the actions of the ambulance driver.
