The Dehiwala Zoo has announced the passing of its last remaining orangutan.
The 15-year-old animal succumbed to a sudden illness, according to the zoo authorities.
The zoo management stated that the orangutan’s body has been sent to the University of Peradeniya for further examination. The results of these examinations will guide future actions.
