‘ටීචර් අම්මා’ යන අන්වර්ථ නාමයෙන් හදුන්වන හයේෂිකා ප්‍රනාන්දු ගුරුවරිය අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීම සදහා පොලිස් කණ්ඩායමක් 3ක් මේ වනවිට යොදවා තිබෙනවා.
මැය මාර්ගගත ක්‍රමය ඔස්සේ ශිෂ්‍යත්ව පන්ති පවත්වනු ලබනවා. ඇය පසුගියදා තරුණයකුගේ යටි බඩ ප්‍රදේශයට පා පහර කීපයක් එල්ල කර ඇති අතර අනතුරුව ඇය දුරකතනය ක්‍රියා විරහිත කර දියණිය සමග ප්‍රදේශයෙන් පලාගොස් සැගවී සිටින බව පොලිසිය පවසනවා.

අද (13) දිනයේදී දුම්රිය 23 ක් අවලංගු කිරීමට සිදු වූ බව දුම්රිය දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව පවසනවා.

Russia launched a mass drone attack late on Friday in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, hitting a high-rise apartment block, triggering fires and injuring 46 people, officials said.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov, writing on the Telegram messaging app, said there had been strikes in 12 locations in four central districts of the city, a repeated target of Russian air attacks lying 30 km (19 miles) from the country’s northeastern border.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy denounced the drone strikes, which hit Ukrainian cities several times a week. He said dozens of drones had been launched and Ukraine’s allies were moving too slowly in helping beef up its air defence capability.
“There were no military targets, nor could there be any. Russia strikes dwellings when Ukrainians are in their homes, when they are putting their children to bed,” Zelenskiy wrote on Telegram.
“As the world delays decisions, almost every night in Ukraine turns into a horror that results in the loss of lives. Ukraine needs stronger air defences. Stronger and real decisions from our partners: the United States, Europe, all our partners who seek peace.”

The Minister emphasized that the individuals involved in this scam are part of a group known as the “Annasigala Farmer Organization,” .

President Anura Kumara Disanayake held a discussion with the Attorney General and officials from the Attorney General’s Department at the Presidential Secretariat today (06).
During the discussion, the President emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among all institutions working towards the effective enforcement of the law.
President Disanayake highlighted the critical responsibility of the Attorney General’s Department to restore public confidence in the judicial system. He further stressed that public perception regarding political interference must be transformed to ensure trust in the legal process.
The President reiterated the government’s commitment to avoiding any actions that could erode public expectations. He assured that efforts are being made to re-establish confidence in the justice system and restore the principles of fairness and equity in the eyes of the people.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Justice and National Integration Harshana Nanayakkara, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security Ravi Seneviratne, Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe PC, along with several officials from the Attorney General’s Department.
Sri Lanka Police are taking steps to address crime by repatriating criminals residing abroad, according to newly appointed Police Spokesman K.B. Manathunga. Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo on Friday (January 3), Manathunga announced, “We have initiated a phased approach to combat crime in the country. As part of this effort, we are actively working to bring back criminals who have fled to foreign nations. This involves issuing red notices and leveraging bilateral agreements to facilitate their return.”
